Is there presently some sort of ultranationalist uprising or revolution in Russia right now? I just watched the trailer for Ghost Recon: Future Soldier [ :fyeah: ] and yet again the villains seem to be Ultranationalist Russians. Normally I wouldn't think anything of it but I just finished the single player campain for Battlefield: Bad Company 2-- guess who? RUSSIANS. Modern Warfare 2-- RUSSIANS. Modern Warfare 1-- RUSSIANS.

Seriously, I am really that uninformed and the world if about to fall to russia or is this recent similarity just a fad just reminiscent of the cold war...

I think they went back to Russia for Ghost Recon because they called the whole Sout Ossetia conflict, to an extent of course. Maybe they're hoping to do it again?
