If when you reinstalled windows, your internet browser could still be looking for the download viewer (exe) from the old operating system. Try going into your C:>Programfiles>WINDOWS, and finding the exe file. If you cant find it, you could either reinstall your operating system, or you could use a fileshare to get it.

Yep or better still get a copy of Firefox... save the installer to disc and never have to put up with the torture that is IE again ;)

Did you do a "clean install" of winblows or did you just install its funky ass over the top of an already corrupt version? It could be as was mentioned earlier that its looking in the wrong place for the old exe file. Best bet imo is format and reinstall. Also a good idea is to partition off say 30GB for winblows and its updates... that way when you dl something put its installation file into the partition you wont be formatting next time winblows goes tits up.... which it no doubt will. Im waiting on this install going pearshaped atm... its about due for it LoL.
