It had to be nothing else changed. You know I watch my temps and processes like a hawk. We even had the convo about running 51° at full load ehike streaming and gaming which was great. Switched from 780 stream to 1080 and was hit with BSOD within the hour. 2 days later the chip was absolute toast.

Im seeing Intels Oc'd to 5.0 ghz while the Zen has been struggling to reac spec'd turbo speeds. OC on the Zen has been brutal maybe get an extra .5 ghz. While I dint plan on OC its the head room thats available if needed. I will be getting Micro Center extended warranty so if this happens again I wont be down so long. I completely regret ordering from New Egg based solely on the fact they dont offer any local exchanges. Micro Center FTW!

I have to drive 40 minutes to microcenter, and then when I do I feel guilty for not telling AIDS I was in the area.  :)  Definitely nice to drive there, and swap ram when they sold you the wrong stuff.  The past 4 years I have done all my builds from MC.

Best way to sum it up is with a car analogy
Intel= Ford GT 6 cylinder twin turbo
AMD Zen= Ford Mustang 8 cylinder naturally aspirated
Both fast as hell in a straight line start throwing turns(games) in there and the Mustang doesnt have a prayer (really doesnt in a straight line either but its my post :))
I tried to find a article I read in bed last night about the new Zen2 and if you read everything they had to fix in the 1st gen you will wonder whats up with AMD quality control. I thought when I started reading it I would be on board with zen, but it was the exact opposite when I was done with the article I was left with an overwhelming feeling of relief I didnt rush out and pick up another AMD cpu. So far the only downfall I have read about with intel is if you want to oc heavy (heavy key word) you have to convert to liquid metal on the cpu instead of paste
*EDIT* I will try to find the article and post the link for you guys, it was pretty interesting and a little shocking

We use quite a lot of liquid nitrogen at work to cool experiments, I've often thought of making a nitrogen cooled computer.  :)  I'd probably freeze and break the thing.

Extreme overclockers use liquid nitrogen, but as an evaporating coolant only, not in a loop or such.
No problem with freezing CPUs just got to watch out for freezing the air around them and the water condensing from the atmosphere.

Zen2 has closed the gap massively on intel, according to a couple of reviews I've read/watched. But hey I'll never use intel anyway...

@Dave YES they did close the gap but it was all the errors they left open with the first Zen chip that really makes me question their production methods

I feel like they rushed it into mass production without properly testing it. It seems like they rushed the Zen2 to market as well so I expect the Zen2 to have a fair amounts of issues that will need hot patches

If you look past all the RGB sync which is just visually stunning and not actually functional, the Ryzen is still impressive.   From what I've read, the Ryzen is blowing Intel out of the water and their prices are unbeatable (not to mention, they're more visually stunning).  I know what I would choose.. and it isn't In$el.
BTW, I'm posting this video because I got really excited watching it... It's better than porn.

I need a change of pants!!!! :temp

yeah, that's how it's used at work.  :)  I wouldn't want to be wasteful!  :)
