I recently joined our local American Legion Post #123, and signed on with the Legion Riders of that organization.
The Legion Riders offer honorary motorcycle escorts for Military funerals, returning servicemen and women, and such as that.
Today was my first riding opportunity as one of the escorts.
We escorted Greg Williams, an injured Iraqi Veteran on his trip for an honors reception at the Legion Post.
I was completely overwhelmed by the family's gratitude they extended to each one of us personally for the escort today.
To be honest I was somewhat skeptical at first if I really wanted to do this regularly,
but after today there is no doubt that I will be riding with them every opportunity I am able to.
Attached is a picture taken while we were forming up to leave, if I get any more pics soon I will post them as well.

I'm a member of the Michigan patriot guard. We give motorcycle escorts for returning soldiers, military funerals and security with a flag line. Its Great to see other stepping up and doing the same. Great Job and keep it up!!!!

Thank you for participating in these functions. As a fellow veteran, I appreciated the few times I was acknowledged for my service. My Uncle Al, who recently passed away, was a WWII hero and was so honored at his funeral. I was proud to pop tall and salute at his flag presentation - one of only three in my whole family that also served our country. I know it means a lot to the veterans and their families.

Thank you for your service, and thank you for honoring those that served. You da'bomb!
