Well it sems that i am constantly downloading maps these days.I have downloaded the same version of each map a number of times now and it drives me mad.
i seem to remember there used to be a way of downloading them and keeping them in your cache ???? or am i thinking of UT ?
is there a solution

This is odd. In the contrary of UT, the maps normally goes to your ''usermaps'' folder, and are not deleted.
But sometimes, the maps slighly differs from one server to another, while having the same name, making you download them each times you have the other versions. When in your explorer, you can see what maps it affects by using the ''details display" in your folder, and looking at the categories "date modified" and "Creation date" (or whatever is close to this, as I don't know the exact term in english version).
Most of the time, they are quite the same (exactly or couple minutes different, depending of your download speed). Take note of the ones that are clearly different and see if these are those you seems to download eachtime.

You're thinking of UT Doc. We had to use a cashe extractor to keep the maps and mods in that game.
