Hey folks, just got a phone call from my recruiting station regarding my boot camp ship date, it turns out someone cancelled on their ship date so I swooped down and snatched it.

If all goes according to plan, that means I'll be leaving on the 22nd of this month for my 9week boot camp journey.
However, if all else fails I'll be leaving sometime in November.

Cross your fingers for me that I'll be able to get the 22nd ship date, so I can go ahead and get Basic over with.
I'll keep this post updated as I learn more, should know for sure by Tuesday

Army
Not sure about any dates/ locations yet. I find that all out at MEPS next Tuesday, it's been a long and difficult road of college and dealing with my ignorant recruiters :fight

For those interested, I'll be enlisting as Infantry (even though I scored an 89 on my ASVAB) and dream to one day jump with the 82nd Airborne.

I live in the Portland, OR metro area and did my basic at Fort Polk, LA...then to Fort Ord, CA for Advanced Infantry then to Fort Gordon, GA for some specialized crap that I never used- then I ate rice for 22 mos and 8 days....join the Army they said - see the world.....ok, back then we were still riding horses! :)

Good luck to you, whenever and where ever you go.....it will be an experience you will NEVER forget
